Written to be read rather than to be impenetrable. The important parts are the grading definitions, the suitability clause and the bit where we tell you plainly what we do not warrant.

Questions about terms

Anything unclear here, ask before you order rather than after.

1. Quotes

Quotes are valid for fourteen days from issue unless stated otherwise. A quote itemises unit price, grade, recorded prior contents, fittings specification, freight and lead time separately. Stock is not reserved by a quote; where specific serial-numbered containers have moved in the interim we will say so and offer the equivalent.

2. Grading

Containers are sold against our published grading standard, which is set out in full on grades explained and printed on every quote. Grade describes condition at the time of grading. Grade A and B containers are leak tested and photographed against their serial; Grade C containers are sold as-is without testing and are not suitable for food, potable or regulated service.

3. Prior contents

Where a prior-contents record exists it is supplied in writing and is accurate to the best of our knowledge, being drawn from the container's original label at intake. Where no record exists the container is graded C and sold as an unknown, and it must not be used for food, potable, animal-feed or regulated service.

4. Suitability is yours to determine

We will advise on suitability freely, in writing, and we frequently refuse sales on suitability grounds. However, you know your process, your product and your regulatory obligations, and the final determination of whether a container is fit for your intended use is yours. We do not warrant fitness for a particular purpose beyond the stated grade and the recorded prior contents.

5. What we warrant

That the container matches the grade and specification stated on the quote; that Grade A and B containers passed a fill-and-hold leak test before dispatch; that stated prior contents are accurate to the best of our knowledge; and that any UN marking we apply reflects a genuine documented reconditioning and test.

6. What we do not warrant

Fitness for a particular purpose beyond the stated grade. The absence of absorbed compounds in a container with an industrial prior-contents history. Continued suitability after you have filled, transported, stacked or modified the container. Service life, which depends overwhelmingly on how the container is stored and used.

7. Title, risk and inspection

Title passes on payment in full. Risk passes on delivery, or on collection where you or your carrier collect from the yard. Please inspect on arrival: count the units, open the lids, check the fittings against the quote, and photograph any discrepancy before the load is unloaded. Discrepancy claims must reach us within three business days of delivery.

8. Freight

Freight is quoted as a separate line and is not included in unit pricing. Liftgate, residential and limited-access surcharges are quoted in advance where you tell us they apply. Delivery windows are estimates; we will tell you promptly if one slips.

9. Will-call collection

We load with a forklift. Securing the load on your vehicle is your responsibility, you must supply your own straps, and we reserve the right to refuse to release a load we consider unsafely secured. This is not negotiable and it is not personal.

10. Returns

Unused containers in original condition may be returned within fourteen days, subject to return freight and a restocking charge where applicable. Containers that have been filled, modified or fitted with non-standard hardware cannot be returned. Custom fabrication is non-returnable once built.

11. Buy-back

Buy-back offers are made from photographs and a declared count, and are confirmed on physical inspection at collection. Where a load materially differs from what was described, we will re-price it at the dock and tell you before loading. Payment terms are stated on the offer.

12. Prohibited uses

Containers sold by us must not be used for: fuel or distillate service in polyethylene bottles; food, potable or animal-feed service unless supplied as food grade with the record attached; regulated hazardous transport unless supplied with a current legible UN marking; or any use prohibited by the material's safety data sheet.

Vocabulary, in twelve lines

IBC: Intermediate bulk container — anything between a drum and a tanker, in practice 110–550 gallons on a forkliftable base.
Composite IBC: An HDPE bottle inside a welded steel cage on a pallet base. The 275 and 330 gallon workhorses.
Tare: Empty weight of the container: 125–135 lb for a 275, 140–155 lb for a 330.
Gross mass: Container plus contents. Most 275s are rated to 2,800 lb; exceed it and the bottle bulges rather than bursts.
Node: A welded intersection in the cage where load actually transfers. The correct place to inspect.
S60x6: The standard outlet thread: 60 mm OD, 6 mm pitch buttress. Hand tight only.
Prior contents: What the container last held, logged against the original label. The single most consequential fact about any used tote.
Rebottle: A new HDPE bottle fitted into an inspected existing cage — virgin interior, 38% less embodied carbon than new.
Food grade: FDA-compliant resin plus an edible-only prior history plus a documented wash. All three, together.
UN 31HA1: Marking for a composite IBC approved for liquids. Belongs to the assembly and carries a service life.
Regrind: Granulated recycled HDPE. Post-industrial IBC regrind goes to pipe, conduit, pallets — never food contact.
Avoided burden: Environmental cost that did not occur because a container was reused instead of manufactured. Not an offset.
