The most common cause of a slow IBC is not the container, the product or the pump. It is a $9 adapter chosen because it was the one that fitted the hose already on the reel.
We put a meter on the outlet and ran the same container seven ways. The numbers are not subtle.

Why the drop-off is so steep
Flow through a pipe scales with something close to the fourth power of diameter at a given pressure drop. Halving the bore does not halve the flow; it cuts it by roughly a factor of sixteen before you account for fittings and length.
That is why a 3/4-inch garden hose adapter on a 2-inch valve is such a severe restriction. The valve is not the constraint at all — it is fully open and irrelevant. The entire system is governed by the smallest bore in it, and the smallest bore is the adapter somebody grabbed because the hose was already there.
Choosing by duty

The vented lid, again
Every number above was measured with a vented 6-inch lid. Repeat the 2-inch butterfly test with a sealed lid and initial flow drops to 41 gpm and average to 19, because the container is fighting its own partial vacuum the entire time.
That is a 55% reduction in average flow from a component that costs less than a sandwich. If your containers drain slowly and you have never checked the lid, check the lid before you buy a pump.
The thread, one more time
All of this assumes you have the right thread family. Measure the outside diameter of the male thread on your valve outlet: 60 mm is S60x6, the modern standard that nearly every adapter fits; 100 mm is S100x8, common on older and European units, bridged with a reducing bushing.
And hand tight only. S60x6 is a coarse buttress thread in moulded plastic. A wrench cracks the flange, not immediately, but three weeks later, at two in the morning, all over a floor.
